United States men’s national and Fulham star left back gave his two cents on the impact of Twitter (now called X) and his feelings on the way algorithms and social media influence people.
Appearing on former England goalkeeper Ben Foster’s podcast “Fozcast”, Robinson was asked his thoughts on the current climate of social media.
The 27-year-old responded saying he dislikes the algorithm of how everyone sees the same videos and tweets. He then followed that up saying Elon Musk, the owner of X, could easily influence the outcome of an election.
Antonee Robinson Elon Musk comments
Robinson then advised Foster and his co-host to watch the British drama series “The Capture” which delves into how fake footage, AI and algorithms can have dire consequences.
It’s interesting and rather rare to see a USMNT player comment on the political sphere of the country. In the past decade it has often been the United States women’s national team on the forefront of fighting for equal pay, LGBTQ+ rights, racial equality and other important topics in U.S. politics.
The majority of current USMNT players typically stray away from commenting on anything political.
GOLZ TV posted the clip of Robinson’s social media take on Twitter and the replies were about what you’d expect. Robinson did have some fans supporting his take.
Boot his ass off the team. We don’t need military babies who have no conception of American identity.
But he’s fine with Reddit ♂️

Hopefully Robinson doesn’t catch too much flak for an opinion that, let’s be honest, is probably right.
