CLEVELAND, Ohio — It appears Ohio’s Buckeye Chuck is on the right track despite Punxsutawney Phil’s conclusion Sunday, at least for one day. Northeast Ohio residents will get an early taste of spring on Monday, with the National Weather Service’s forecast calling for highs in the mid-50s. It will be cloudy and breezy, with wind gusts near 30 mph. There also is a 20% chance of showers after 4 p.m. It will get chilly overnight, with temps in the upper 20s. There is a 40% chance of rain.
Parts of Lake County along the Chagrin River are under a flood advisory until noon Monday. The Weather Service warns that an ice jam on the river is causing minor flooding in Willoughby and Willoughby Hills.
Highs will stay in the low 30s Tuesday with partly sunny skies. Highs will be around 40 degrees on Wednesday but there still is a 50% chance of snow showers before 1 p.m. Highs will be in the upper 40s Thursday with a 40% chance of showers. Friday will be partly sunny but highs again will drop to the low 30s. There is a 60% chance of snow showers Saturday and temps will reach the upper 30s. Sunday will be mostly cloudy and temps will be in the mid-30s.
Northeast Ohio will gain two minutes and 19 seconds of daylight on Monday.
