PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (WWSB) – Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office says at around 4 a.m. on Sunday, two individuals stole vape products at the Daybreak Gas Station in Port Charlotte.
53-year-old Jason Thibeault and a minor accomplice are being accused of stealing approximately $1,500 worth of vape products.
On Jan. 12, Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at a gas station for a recent theft. The on-duty employee told police that two suspects had just run off with a case of 100 vape pens. This case was valued at over $1,500.
The area was canvased and police found a large amount of vape pens scattered and the case scattered near the direction the thieves supposedly ran to.
Charlotte County Road Patrol located the first suspect walking down Peachland Blvd. He matched the description and was in possession of a large quantity of vape pens.
Police then located Thibeault in an empty home marked ‘For Sale.’
Both men were arrested.
Among the vape pens, they also admitted to stealing beef jerky, twisted tea, and other alcohol.
