    See the Ohio schools that offer 5 of the highest-paying college majors

    As winter 2024 college graduates become the newest faces to enter the workforce, studies say that these Gen Z grads hope to earn over $500,000 per year to be successful.

    Of course, some industries pay more than others—by quite a bit of money.

    STEM majors, for example, earn among the highest average starting salaries right out of college. And many universities in Ohio offer majors and programs for those lucrative career paths.

    Here are five of the highest-salaried majors and state university programs.

    Which Ohio state universities offer the highest-paying majors?

    According to Quartz, a new study found these are five of the college majors with the highest average starting salaries. STEM majors make the most money right out of college, according to the study:

    1. Computer & Information Science
      • Average starting salary: $91,411
      • Major offered at: The Ohio State University, Miami University, Bowling Green State University, Central State University, Cleveland State University, Kent State University, Ohio University, Shawnee State University, The University of Akron, The University of Toledo, University of Cincinnati, Wright State University, Youngstown State University, University of Dayton
    2. Engineering
      • Average starting salary: $80,085
      • Major offered at:Ohio State, Miami University, Bowling Green, CSU, Cleveland State, Kent State, Ohio, Akron, Toledo, Cincinnati, Wright State, YSU, Dayton
    3. Math
      • Average starting salary: $79,859
      • Major offered at: Ohio State, Miami University, Bowling Green, CSU, Cleveland State, Kent State, Ohio, Shawnee State, Akron, Toledo, Cincinnati, Wright State, YSU, Dayton
    4. Engineering Technology
      • Average starting salary: $69,162

    5. Business
      • Average starting salary: $66,578
