Marshawn Lynch isn’t the only ex-Seahawk with a penchant for Skittles.
DK Metcalf, 27, the newest member of the Pittsburgh Steelers, is one of the most athletic anomalies in the NFL. He boasts elite size (6-4, 235), speed (4.33-second 40-yard dash at 2019 NFL Combine), and he is almost impossible for DBs to tackle, yet the two-time Pro Bowl wide receiver eats junk food all day.
“I’m a candy type person,” Metcalf told NBA Hall of Fame power forward Kevin Garnett during an appearance on KG Certified. “I eat one meal a day, drink one coffee and eat three-four bags of candy. I’m a gummy type of guy.”
Metcalf broke down his diet to Garnett, who sat in disbelief.
“I’ll just take you through yesterday … I woke up, worked out, worked out again, came home, showered. I’m hungry, run to Starbucks, get a quick coffee … It’s 12 (p.m.), so that’s gonna hold me for like four hours. Around 4:30, I ordered some candy and a water. I got the Skittles Gummies then I got the Life Savers (Gummies Collisions). They are the same sized bag, so I just mixed them … That’s gonna hold me until like 8 o’clock when I’m having dinner.”
Let this be a lesson to parents who say their kids will never amount to much if they don’t eat their vegetables.
“So, it’s safe to say we are gonna see a DK gummy at some point,” Garnett said, tongue in cheek.
