CLEVELAND, Ohio — Ollie’s Bargain Outlet is purchasing dozens of former Big Lots locations, including one in Northeast Ohio, according to reports.
The company released a statement last month that it was acquiring a total of 63 closed Big Lots locations from Gordon Brothers. Big Lots, which is based in Columbus, announced in February that it was closing nearly all of its locations.
According to WCMH Channel 4, Ollie’s purchase includes four stores in Ohio, one located in Chardon in Geauga County. The others are in Bowling Green, Findlay and Middletown.
“Everything about these stores lines up well with our business and growth strategy,” Ollie’s Vice President and CEO Eric van der Valk says in a statement. “These locations are the right size, come with favorable lease terms, are located in existing and adjacent trade areas, and have long serviced value-conscious consumers.”
The news release did not say how much Ollie’s is paying for the former Big Lots locations.
Ollie’s currently has multiple locations in Northeast Ohio, including in North Olmsted, Oakwood Village, Parma, Cuyahoga Falls, Niles, Mentor and Ashtabula.
