PARMA, Ohio (WOIO) – Local Ukrainian-Americans and supporters held a community rally in support of Ukraine on Saturday.
Over 100 people made their way to Saint Vladimir’s Grand Hall in Parma.
They were there to pray for peace through unity and strength.
Many of the people there say they are disappointed with Friday’s meeting between President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House.
Leaders say this is is not the time to lose hope.
“We need to translate our emotions into actions,” said one speaker. “Putin’s ambitions are not just a threat to Ukraine, they are a threat to all of us who believe in freedom. If we allow Ukraine to fall, we will invite further aggression.”
Ohio Representative Sean Brennan and Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur also attended Saturday’s rally. They say Ohio supports the people of Ukraine.
