Mark Zuckerberg’s plan to replace fact checkers with “community notes” is a familiar one.A similar system of community moderation is already in place on Elon Musk’s X.On X, community notes let users add context to posts. So what’s better: X/Twitter or LinkedIn? I’m not a social media expert, but we ended last year with about the same views (40,000,000) and followers (250,000) on both. So at least I can share a few learnings: #1. X and LinkedIn perform about the same for us in terms of driving traffic to SaaStr.com itself It used to be different, but in 2024, they both drive about the same amount of traffic to SaaStr.com (about 15% total) and about the same amount of attendees to events #2. The three-time Grand Slam winner has poked fun at Elon Musk over his seemingly endless posting on Twitter/X. Like many of us, the former world number one seemed to notice that the owner of the social media platform kept cropping up on his profile. (Image: Twitter/X) Murray said: “The top 17 posts on my Twitter feed are from Elon Musk. #Interesting algorithm he’s created.”…

I’m not really sure why Elon Musk is so annoyed by clutter in the main X feed, but for some reason, he wants to cut out as much as absolutely possible, in order to make it a more “clean”, simple UI. Which might be more attractive, I guess, but… Musk’s latest suggestion along this line is to remove the date/time markers from the main X feed, so that you just have a clear, scrolling row of posts, with the main post itself being the focus. As reported by Fortune: “The proposal of removing date stamps would be limited to the…
